In order to be issued a form I-20, you must show sufficient funding to cover the financial requirements of your program. 



Funding requirements for international students are as follows: 


Tuition and Fees: $17,190

Living Expenses (Cost of Living in the US): $10,000

Dependents: $5000 for the first dependent and $2500 per additional dependent



Funding requirements for international undergraduate students are as follows: 


Tuition and Fees: $24,400 USD

Living Expenses: $15,106 USD

Dependents: $5,000 USD for the first dependent and $2,500 USD per additional dependent


The financial document(s) you provide must equal or exceed the financial requirement for your program.




Please note:

  • Only proof of your first year of expenses is required.
  • These requirements are estimated expenses and are subject to change.
  • The financial information will appear on your I-20.
  • The amount shown on your I-20 may be less than the amount you have provided on your financial statements. The I-20 only needs to show you have funds for the estimated cost for your program.
  • Students applying for a second degree or reinstatement are required to provide updated financial documentation.
