If you are currently approved for and working under Optional Practical Training (OPT) or enrolled in a program of study at another school, please set your SEVIS transfer release date as the day after your OPT or program end date. (for example: Your program start date at HU is September 1, 1970 and your OPT end date is June 10, 1970. Please request a transfer release date of June 11, 1970).
If your projected OPT or program end date is beyond your Harrisburg University program start date then you will need to request that the record be released on the Harrisburg University program start date. (for example: Your program start date at HU is September 1, 1970 and your OPT end date is October 25, 1970. Please request a SEVIS transfer date of September 1, 1970).
For F-1 transfer, your program at Harrisburg University must begin within 5 months of the end of your previous program. Once your SEVIS record is transferred to HU, you are required by regulation to start within 5 months or on the next available start date; whichever comes sooner. It is important that you select an appropriate transfer date for the semester to which you are admitted. Please contact ISO if you need help selecting a release date.
The SEVIS record is released to Harrisburg University by your current institution.
*Note: Once HU’s Add-Drop period ends, students whose SEVIS records have not been transferred will be withdrawn from classes
